Staying in the Loop: Oculus Touch, Murphy Beds and More

Hook and loop is used in so many applications, it’s difficult to know where to start. After all, it’s not just shoes and wallets that use these practical fasteners. We’re highlighting some interesting applications that we come across, including new business ventures, technology, and DIY stuff, among others.

A Little Lesson on Biomimicry

This is a neat video that explains a bit about biomimicry and the adaptation of nature to create Velcro®. For more information like this, including an old marketing video from the Velcro® company's inception, a timeline and additional resources, check out our page on the history of Velcro®.

Oculus Touch Review

This review of the Oculus Touch from early December explains how well the headset fits thanks to hook and loop straps, as well as how realistic the gameplay is. The Oculus Rift will be available for purchase in the first quarter of 2016 while the Touch will be available some time in 2016.

How to Strap in a Murphy Bed

Here's another video that shows how to use hook and loop to strap in a Murphy bed. It's easy to do and Murphy beds create so much extra space in a tight living area. All it takes is a drill, some screws and washers, and a few strips of hook and loop! As for lessons on building out a Murphy bed, that may take a little more time and skill.
