Sewing Machines

At HookandLoop.com, we have six industrial sewing machines for manufacturing sewn straps. We have 1 Tacsew and 5 Consews. These manufacturers have been around for a long time and provide the best equipment in the industry. If you're interested in our sewing services, you can also email us.

Industrial Strength

These sewing machines sew through a number of materials including upholstery, leather, canvas, shoes, saddles, mattresses, tents, tarps and clothing fabrics like jeans. There are even specialty machines for lock stitching parachutes and boat sails. As a result, these machines are very capable of meeting the demands of our strap manufacturing. Most of the material we sew here is made of nylon or polypropylene.

Speed

Our newest Consews feature a direct drive motor, fully automatic functions, built-in bobbin winder, locking stitch regulator, and safety-type handwheel. Some specs include a maximum speed of 3,000 stitches per minute, 13mm clearance under pressure, and a stitch length of 8mm, or 3 stitches per inch. This is an exciting upgrade since some of our older machines can only sew up to 1,600 stitches per minute.

What We Sew

Our sewing machines are used to sew hook and loop straps to polypropylene webbing. The webbing reinforces the straps for more heavy duty applications. It's also used for additional material on some customized straps that don't need much hook or loop. The Consew sewing machines perform straight stitches and the Tacsew machine can zig-zag stitch, which is a stronger stitch that zig-zags back and forth. The Consews allow for easy box stitching and other sewing techniques to make sure your straps have the strongest stitching possible.

Maintenance

Our sewing machines are maintained daily by our seamstresses and are routinely serviced to make sure they are operating accurately and efficiently. Some machines require oil and other automatically lubricate. We use size 69/Tex 70 bonded thread in all of our machines, which is a thread that's easy to sew and has high tensile strength and elasticity, with a 12 lb. break strength.
