Hook And Loop Use On Gymnastics Mats

Hook and loop has its use in many sports from braces to padding and everywhere in between. In gymnastics, one of the most common uses for hook and loop is using it to lay out mats for tumbling or fastening rolls of padding.

Sometimes these mats are designed with lengths of hook or loop running along an edge. These can be overlapped to extend the mat out as long as you need. Other times, the mats used are custom or specialized and need to have the seams secured with long pieces of the hook side.

We sell rolls of 4” wide hook for just this purpose. Some of our customers have us weld several rolls together, giving them a continuous length of hook that they can spread out over 150 - 200 feet.

This especially comes in handy for meets and tournaments where the event space may need to be assembled in a time crunch. This is also helpful for breaking down the floors and transporting them to and from meets. We also sell hook and loop in several colors so it shouldn’t be hard to find one that matches your mats or school colors.

These 4” rolls are $36.50 - $37.50 per 25 yards and we charge an additional $5.00 per roll to weld them together to make longer rolls. Since this is a custom order, we recommend calling in your order by phone at (800) 940-6934 or sending it in via email to info@hookandloop.com.
