Velcro ® brand products cover a wide range of hook and loop fasteners. Velcro Industries B.V. is the owner of the Velcro ® trademark and is the only company allowed to make genuine Velcro ® hook and loop products. Velcro USA Inc. is the company that produces tapes for the American market.

There are two sides to the fasteners. Velcro ® brand hook tape is the rougher side of the two part tape. Loop is the soft side of the tape.

Velcro ® brand hook and loop can be used to manufacture custom hook and loop straps.Velcro ® brand tapes can also be cut into strips, squares, and coins.

The invention of Velcro ® brand Fasteners was discovered by chance in the 1940's by a man in the Swiss mountains.
